At the intersection of art and music

My name is Jason Beckerleg. I started COLOR OF SOUND out of my love for two things: art and music. My fascination is the space where these two things collide. COLOR OF SOUND is a creative outlet for me. It’s both a design shop and a blog, focused on music and the visual culture that surrounds it. I can’t imagine one without the other.

Before I became a graphic designer I worked in record stores for several years. During that time I became fascinated as much by the album covers as the music I was selling. Being a longtime record collector and vinyl enthusiast, I create designs that I can envision being displayed in someone’s listening room or above their turntable. I only print my designs on high-quality items, including prints, coffee mugs, and t-shirts.

Inspired by sound, shaped by sight

These designs are born from the songs that move me and the album covers that have shaped my visual language. Each piece is a tribute to the rhythm, mood, and memory that music evokes. You’ll find them available as art prints, coffee mugs, and t-shirts in my Etsy store. Click on the images below to see more.
